the story so far

we've had our smallholding for just over a year and the time has been spent renovating the clom house and keeping on with the day jobs to make it all possible next year to do it fulltime. The house was a wreck inside with a hole in the roof but with such good potential that it's been wonderful to discover it under its concrete jacket and release it.
The 10 acres of land was also rather worn down by some underfed horses that had been kept there for far too long but over the year but in the late summer it had recovered enough to produce loads of hay for the neighbouring farmers to cut, bale and use.
Our great desire is to return the house and land to good working order so that we can feed ourselves and live the life we both think we're made for.

  1. And here I was getting all hopeful that there might be wonderful tales of the work in progress...but it's another Jeni blog! And I know better, really, than to imagine you'll be less busy when you move. Ah well. Have a hug anyway xx
